Golden Voices (2019)

The Mystery Sci Fi universe of Golden Voices was created by Grace Pisula, Zack Sievers, Layne Marie Williams, Melissa Schlesinger, and Kalika Rose (Team Gold) for the 2018 Indiana Film Race.  The reality-based film race competition challenges select filmmakers to produce an award-worthy 15-minute short film while living in an RV for 5 days and traveling across 5 counties in Indiana. 

Golden Voices won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Cinematographer at the 2018 Indiana Film Race. Golden Voices later premiered at Heartland's Indy Shorts International Film Festival and has been screening in cities across the Midwest.

Golden Voices is a poetic horror film about a ghost-chasing podcaster (Kalika Rose) who stumbles upon sleepwalking children whispering of “gold” in rural Indiana. The making of Golden Voices involved the team going on scouting trips through various counties in Indiana, telling ghost stories, and camping in Indiana state parks. The story was inspired by the team’s experience of Indiana’s natural beauty, and living in the wilderness. The writing, the acting, and the set design involved research into several occult and paranormal fields, gaining new perspectives on astral projection and lucid dreaming. 

Team Gold was determined to make a beautiful film that reflected the beauty of nature, but also a film that pays attention and reverence to the current state of nature as it is undergoing climate change.
